The CYMFed Board is, in the main, elected from within the full membership of the Principal Officers, to manage CYMFed's work on a day to day basis. The Bishop responsible for Youth within the Bishop's Conference and the Chair Person of CAYMA (Catholic Association of Youth Ministers and Advisers) are also invited to particapte as full members of the Board.

The elected membership of the Board is constituted so that each Province is represented, in addition to one representative for Movements/Organisations, one for Religious Orders and one representative for Residential Retreat Centres. The Board elects its own officers, as noted above.
